Purity	Greater than 95% as determined by reducing SDS-PAGE.
Formulation	Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution of 20mMPB,150mMNaCl,pH 7.4.
Storage	Lyophilized protein should be stored at < -20°C, though stable at room temperature for 3 weeks.Reconstituted protein solution can be stored at 4-7°C for 2-7 days.Aliquots of reconstituted samples are stable at < -20°C for 3 months.
Reconstitution	Dissolve the lyophilized protein in distilled water.
Endotoxin	Less than 0.1 ng/ug (1 EU/ug) as determined by LAL test.
Background	Kappa-Casein (CSN3) is a secreted protein that belongs to the Kappa-Casein family. CSN3 exists in heteromultimers that are composed of alpha-s 1casein and kappa casein linked by disulfide bonds. CSN3 is involved in a number of important physiological processes. In the gut, CSN3 protein is split into an insoluble peptide (para kappa-casein) and a soluble hydrophilic glycopeptide (caseinomacropeptide). Caseinomacropeptide is responsible for increased efficiency of digestion, prevention of neonate hypersensitivity to ingested proteins, and inhibition of gastric pathogens. Kappa-casein also stabilizes micelle formation, preventing casein precipitation in milk.
